Design Team head to head for Anything Goes

Hello and happy Monday! Hope you all survived the weekend. I had a brilliant weekend, on Saturday I got to spend the day with a wonderful, crafty friend. We did more chatting than crafting, but I had such a wonderful day. Can't wait to meet up again for the chat and craft ;-) Can't believe how short the days are turning, getting dark very early! Eeek! :)

This week over at Through the Purple Haze Challenges, the theme is Anything Goes with a twist of Halloween. We are having a head to head Team A vs Team B, so please pop over and vote for your favourite DT project :) The sponsor this week is Digital Delights, offering a $5 coupon and Eye Owl Candy, offering a workshop! Wow :)

This week I went with the Anything Goes. I have no Halloween crafting stuff, and considering we don't celebrate Halloween in a paper/crafting way decided to make an Anything Goes project!! Here it is:

My husband's birthday is a fortnight after mine (yes we have about 8 family birthdays in the space of 6 weeks!!! Crazy time! ;) ) and this is the card I made for him. He's into music and plays the guitar, can you see that hint in the card?!

With the blue embossed board I die cut a circle out, and then die cut the largest Sizzix Framelits label out of Joanna Sheen marbled paper. I cut a smaller circle from the label, and on the inside sheet stamped '100% Happy" in brown ink. Before sticking down the label, I layered some brown paper with some music notation paper and washi tape each side of the circle aperture.

I stamped some guitars in gold ink above and below the brown board, and stamped the remainder of the sentiment 'birthday' onto some brown card. With some bakers twine, I looped it around the front of the card (I made a little eyelet hole on the fold of the card) and threaded the sentiment through.

I quilled a few blue strips to make a flower design, and used a lovely brown flower embellishment for the middle. I stuck a few buttons and gems on to finish it off.

Hope you enjoyed looking at my card. Why not give the challenge a go?
Hope you have a wonderful Monday :)

I hope to enter this card into a few challenges.

Frame it!

Happy Wednesday! Hope today is filled with lots of positive thoughts and good energy for you.

A while back, I decorated a frame for a friend's birthday present. I never did one like this, and I was impressed with the results. Here are some photos:

The finished frame.
I used a 12 x 12" sheet of paper and folded it around the frame. Then I cut out an opening for the photo (much smaller than the actual opening) and carefully folded the excess paper back onto the frame.
I stringed some beads onto wire and then glued them in place.

I cut out a flower on canvas and inked it up, wrapped some twine around it and looped a charm through the twine.

Hope you like my frame! Thanks for stopping by, have a great day,
Eithne :)

Food Glorious Food!

Hello, and happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend. This week over at Through the Purple Haze Challenges the theme is 'food glorious food'. It is pretty apt after the weekend of food I have had ;-)
This week the challenge is sponsored by Lacy Sunshine

This is the card I did for the challenge - I used Bubbles Halloween.

I used loads of Autumnal colours for this card.
I coloured in the image and stuck it off centre onto a die cut doily.
I used some beautiful stripy paper, and a red strip with yellow paper "bunting".

I added some gems and 3-D sticker and some outline stickers to finish it off.
Hope you enjoyed having a look.
I am entering this card into the following challenges:

One Today, Hip Hip Hooray!!

Hello, hope your Sunday is going well. This week over at Eclectic Ellapu the challenge is "First Birthday", here is the card I made for the challenge:

I used a combo of die cuts, washi tape, stamps, and brads to create the card.

This card I made for my nephew who was 1 the same day as my daughter turned 4! They can have double parties in years to come. ;-)

All this month, there is a Treasure Hunt for Eclectic Ellapu's first birthday! (be sure to check it out for some wonderful prizes) So in honour of this, let's have a party!! ;-)

Why not take part in this week's challenge? Thanks for stopping by :)

Anything Goes at TTPHC

Hello, happy Monday to you! Hope the weekend treated you well and your week begins well. This week over at Through the Purple Haze Challenges, the challenge is "Anything Goes" with Indigo Blu.

This is the card I made:

With some beautiful grey irisdescent board, I die cut out with the largest Sizzix Framelits Label die. I used some marbelle grey paper for the second sheet of the card. I trimmed around the edge of the inside paper to make it slightly smaller.
I used the two smaller framelits dies for the sentiment. With some lovely pink bakers twine I wrapped it around the sentiment card and attached a butterfly charm. I used some black ink for the Indigo Blu sentiment, 'You're Bloomin' Great".

I inked the edge of the opening with some silver ink, it just seemed to merge the two colours better. For the top left corner, I used a paper flower and a button, and some tear dropped embellishments.
For the bottom right of the card, and probably the most prominent and dramatic corner, I used another Indigo Blu stamp, the beautiful large flower stamped in cerise pink onto pink card. For continuity, I used some more tear drop embellishments and some washi tape.
Hope you like my card, why not give the challenge a go? Thanks for stopping by :)

I hope to enter this card in a few challenges.
