Anything Goes over at TTPHC

Hello! A very happy morning to you :) This week over at Through the Purple Haze Challenges we have a new challenge - Anything Goes Opt For A Male. We are very kindly sponsored by Sassy Studio

This week I decided to go with the Anything Goes, as I have no men in my life who need a card, and I didn't want this lovely lady to sit on the shelf of my room, waiting to be used ;)

I made a card for a friend who is making a few changes in her life at the minute. I always feel you have to follow your dreams and be true to yourself for genuine happiness. Wishing her the best in her decisions she is facing :)

I used the Cat Woman Sassy image. I have noticed a lot of watercolour effect cards lately, so decided to play on the idea of dreams and watercolour - giving the undefined colour like the way a dream is.
I used some old pencils to colour her in.

I did some faux stitches around the patchwork effect card.
I made some paper flowers and used some twine to tie in the stamped torn sentiment with the flowers on it.
Thanks for stopping over, why not pop over and see my Through the Purple Haze Challenges teamies designs?
I hope to enter a few challenges. Why not give this challenge a go?

Hope you have a great Monday.

Craft for the Craic's May Challenge

Hello and welcome :) Hope you are enjoying your Friday, wherever you are :) Today the new challenge for Craft for the Craic goes live, and the theme this month is 'Something for a baby'.

At the beginning of last month, my niece Anna was born. I made this for her, and that in time she could put it up in her bedroom.

I used a combination of papers, tore them and stuck them onto some cream board at the back. It created a patchwork affect. Then I punched the elephant paper into the circle, inked it and stuck it down in the middle. Using two different tones of vellum, I created an area for Anna's name to go. I cut out Anna's name with the same board as per the base (although it is rather hard to see, it is so well covered ;) ) I sewed some pink thread up each side, and stuck down a serious of buttons, gems and other bling.

I created this flower with some quilled paper and a flower embellishment.

My aim is to make Anna's older sister, a similar, but not so 'babyish' one, so in years to come when they are sharing a bedroom, it will be fair!! ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hoped you like my creation. Why not pop over to Craft for the Craic and join in, in the challenge?
I hope to enter a few challenges.

Have a brilliant weekend, in Ireland we have a long weekend! Woohoo!!
Happy Crafting,

#39 Sketch over at TTPHC

Good morning, and happy Monday! Hope you had a lovely weekend. Can you believe it is nearly May? I can't believe how fast the months are flying by!

This week over at Through the Purple Haze Challenges, the theme is a sketch

and we are sponsored by Delicious Doodles

This week I got the image, Blossom, and here is the card I made:

I coloured her with watercolour crayons and then used some glitter to highlight some accents.

I printed out the flowers on her head twice, and used it as an emphasis, decoupage style I suppose!

I did some faux stitching around the edge of the A5 card, and used two strips of vellum paper to create the lines from the sketch.

I highlighted the butterfly with glitter, to tie in with the detail there for the sketch. I don't normally do a digi image so large, but just felt the image alone could lend itself to the sketch, so decided to do a slight abstract style adhering to the sketch this week!! ;)

Why not pop over and see what my other teamies have made and give the challenge a go?
Thanks for looking, hope you have a great week :)

I hope to enter this into a few challenges,

Purple Team for Birthdays

Hello and hope you have a wonderful Sunday. This week over at Eclectic Ellapu, the purple theme is 'Birthdays' and the pink theme is 'feeling fruity'. As I am on the purple team, I made an A5 birthday card. This was for my daughters friend, who turned four yesterday.

I used some printed vellum paper, and used a punch to cut it into a circle. The layered up some papers, punched the black sheet and used some outline stickers for the sentiment. I stamped the image of the cupcake and roughly coloured it. I used some gems and washi tape to add to the card.

Thank you for stopping by, hope you can join in the challenge.

Happy crafting ;)

Anything Goes over at TTPHC

Good morning! Hope you had a wonderful weekend and your Monday is going well. This week over at Through the Purple Haze Challenges the new challenge this week  "Anything Goes" with an optional try add a number, and our sponsor is Lacy Sunshine who offers four images from her store.

This week I made a card, and incorporated the number in with the washi tape.

For a change, I punched the top right corner with a We R Memory punch. I used some gummi bear printed vellum as the backdrop and punched out the corner with another punch.

I layered the beautiful Lacy Sunshine image after colouring her with some watercolour crayons, used some gems and washi tape to add some dimension and detail around the layering.

I stamped and die cut the sentiment at the bottom right, and again added some gems for dimension. Using some outline stickers I placed Happy Birthday on the card.

Thanks for stopping by, why not pop over and enter in the challenge?

Have a wonderful Monday :)

#36 Team A - New Folding Technique

Good morning! Hope you had a wonderful weekend and your Monday is going well. This week over at Through the Purple Haze Challenges the new challenge this week is to try a new Folding Technique. This week I am on Team A, but normally I'm Team B :)
We are sponsored by:

Hougie Crafts

I made a double gate fold (if that is even the correct name!! I am not sure of the fold name as I never did it before)

When the card is closed it looks like Rapunzel is peeping out!!
This is the inside of the card, with the beautiful Stitchy Bear image -

I paper pierced the dress and stamped onto the dress, and then heat embossed it with kaleidoscope embossing powder. No matter how hard I tried I could not get the embossed dress to show. :(

I used some water colour crayons to colour in the rest of the image.

Thanks for stopping by, why not pop over and enter in the challenge?

Have a wonderful Monday :)

CFTC - Something for Easter or Spring

Hello, and happy Friday!! :) Can you believe it is April already? Where are the weeks going. Here in Ireland we have been enjoying snippets of spring/summer weather. It is such a tease, but a great way to ease us into a nice (hopefully) summer!!

This month's challenge over at Craft for the Craic, is Something for Easter or Spring. As usual, the themes are very broad to allow for a range of crafts to enter. Why not give it a go?

This month I made a card, with some Spring colours and floral papers which remind me of Spring.

I used some distress ink, and a stencil to ink up the background. Then used a combination of handmade papers, printed papers, washi tape, greyboard and some embellishments to finish off the card.

I left the card with no sentiment, as I'm between minds what occasion it is for.

Why not pop over and join in in the challenge?
I am entering this card into the
